Editorial policy and testing

What we publish is tested, sourced and dated. Here is exactly how.

Testing

Every conversion method we describe is run on real sample files before it goes live. When a guide shows a Python, PowerShell or Excel step, that step was executed and produced the stated result. If a method has a caveat, such as Excel dropping leading zeros, we state it plainly.

Sourcing

Format behaviour is checked against primary sources: the CSV specification RFC 4180, the pandas documentation, and Microsoft and Google support pages for their respective tools. We link to these sources directly so you can verify anything yourself.

The tool itself

The converter runs client-side in JavaScript. It quotes fields per RFC 4180, detects common delimiters, and exports UTF-8. No file is transmitted to a server, so we never see, store or log your data.

Updates and corrections

Each guide shows an "Updated on" date reflecting its last real revision. We do not backdate or fake freshness. If you spot an error, email info@txttocsv.com and we will correct it and note the change.

Independence

The site is supported by advertising. Ads never influence which methods we recommend, and we do not accept payment for placement or reviews.
